Two Rangers defenders expected to leave, another to renew deal – Daily Record
Leon Balogun is expected to extend his stay at Rangers this summer, but Connor Goldson and Filip Helander could leave according to Daily Record.
Balogun and Goldson both have contracts that are due to expire at the end of the season, while Helander will be entering the final 12 months of his deal at the same time.
But ahead of what looks set to be a hugely busy transfer window for the Ibrox club, a new report suggests that the Nigeria international could see an option in his contract triggered as the other two prepare to leave.

The Daily Record say that Goldson will ‘almost certainly return south of the border’ after failing to agree a new contract with the club.
Helander is also expected to be available for transfer, having spent more time on the treatment table than the pitch since arriving at the club considering his contract situation.
Rebuild
It’s a summer of rebuild for Rangers whether they end the season with two trophies, one trophy or none.
Ten players will see their contracts expire at the club between now and the summer of 2023 and unless new deals are agreed, then big decisions need to be made.

It seems they’ve now been made in the defensive side of the pitch, with two exits expected in the centre of defence. Goldson’s future has been seen as a distraction all season, and Helander’s exit won’t be a huge blow either.
The club have already completed a deal to bring in John Souttar from Hearts this summer on a free transfer, but by extending Balogun’s contract it’s one less position that needs to be filled.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst can also look to use youngster Leon King more regularly next season as an option in defence, but it seems that plans are in motion for the new campaign already.
