Rangers ‘quite far ahead’ in plans for summer transfer window – Dean Jones

Rangers are ‘quite far ahead’ in their plans for the summer transfer window, even down to exact personnel according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Bears are facing a huge summer window with five first-team stars out of contract at the end of the season and five more entering the final 12 months of their deal.

As Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks to bolster his squad to compete on all fronts once again, Jones told GiveMeSport that the club are facing an ‘interesting’ few months ahead.

“From what I’m told, Rangers are actually getting quite far ahead in terms of deciding the exact positions and the personnel they want to fill certain roles.

“So, I think it’s going to be really interesting what happens over the next few months.”

Major happenings

It’s bound to be a massive summer of decisions at Ibrox this summer, with outgoings key to who could potentially arrive.

There are key players who have their future up in the air and if they leave, the club will need to go out of their way to find star players that can replace them.

The idea that they have already identified targets is certainly a positive, as it means there is planning going on behind the scenes for the new season and decisions are being made despite no public updates.

This is a big chance for Van Bronckhorst to be able to shape the squad in a way that he envisages the club going forward, and he already began that process by bringing in John Souttar for next season on a free transfer to replace Connor Goldson.

More progress is only a positive thing and if they are able to find success in the Scottish Cup and/or Europa League this season, then it will only boost their chances of success in the market.
