Kris Commons predicts outcome of Rangers v Braga

Kris Commons has suggested that Rangers could lose their Europa League tie against Braga on Thursday.

The Gers are trailing by 1-0 from the first leg, but they are hopeful of turning it around at Ibrox.

The Sky Sports pundit, however, feels that without Alfredo Morelos, it’s going to be an uphill task for the home side.

“Rangers have given themselves an opportunity in Europe, despite only being 1-0 down. I think this tie against Braga may be one step too far without Alfredo Morelos, who is out for the season,” wrote Commons for The Scottish Daily Mail (11 April, page 5).

Big chance

This game is still within the control of Rangers, and they need to be patient.

Commons has rightly pointed out that the task would become difficult without Morelos, but Rangers need to think of other alternative plans.

There is no point thinking about Morelos now as he won’t be available till the end of the season.

Rangers

Rangers have beaten the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Red Star Belgrade, teams who are better than Braga in terms of quality, and there is no reason why they can’t win at Ibrox.

Kemar Roofe scored a hat-trick in the last game against St Mirren, and he will be looking to repeat similar heroics on Thursday.

Joe Aribo, who looked out of touch in recent matches, has found his mojo back with a quality finish on Sunday.

Van Bronckhorst now has a big decision to make regarding his midfield following the injury to John Lundstram, but he has plenty of options to choose from.

In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart has shared his reaction to a “huge” development at Ibrox to come in April.
