Alex Lowry not in talks over new Rangers deal

Alex Lowry is not in talks over signing a new deal at Rangers, according to a report by Lanarkshire Live Sport.

It was understood that the teenager was offered a deal that would take his earnings to north of £250,000 per year.

However, that is not the case and there are no plans over a new deal for the exit-linked player.

That being said, he is set for a meeting with Giovanni van Bronckhorst as his current deal expires next summer.

Via their official Twitter account, Lanarkshire Live Sport wrote, “There’s no new contract talks for the Uddingston teenager, contrary to reports.”

Baffling

Rangers are not a club that can go out and sign any player from any team because of their financial pull.

They have to rely on having a good academy system and players who can come through it and graduate to represent the first team.

Lowry is one such player who is tipped for great things in the future and Gers must do whatever they can to keep him at the club.

Hopefully, the meeting with GvB is fruitful and it gets him to put pen to paper on a new deal at Ibrox.

The fans will certainly laud him for this decision and he could very well be playing senior football soon.

It remains to be seen how this entire saga transpires throughout the summer window.

In other Rangers news, the club have terminated a major deal citing a breach of contract which also comprises of significant branding issues.
