Alan Hutton thrilled by Rangers forward Kemar Roofe v St Mirren

Kemar Roofe showed his class as Rangers responded strongly with a 4-0 win against St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

The Gers striker scored a brilliant hat-trick and Alan Hutton has been left thrilled by his fabulous performance, especially his second goal.

Joe Aribo scored the other goal with a gorgeous finish to consign St Mirren to a fourth straight defeat.

Hutton was impressed with Roofe’s movement for the second goal, while also praising the delivery from Tavernier.

“A real bit of class. James Tavernier whips it in and look at Kemar Roofe’s movement – he peels out to get on the ball and just caress it into the side netting,” said Hutton to BBC Radio 5 Live as relayed by the BBC Website.

“It’s brilliant for Rangers to score early in the half and score late in the half.”

Big Thursday

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be thrilled to see Roofe returning to form again ahead of the big Europa clash on Thursday.

The Gers are trailing 1-0 against Braga from the first leg but there is a feeling they can turn it around in the second leg at Ibrox.

Rangers have already suffered a massive blow earlier this month when Alfredo Morelos was ruled out till the end of the season.

Van Bronckhorst has used Fashion Sakala against Braga but the pacey striker failed to make an impact. The Dutchman must trust Roofe to deliver in the second leg.

The hat-trick against St Mirren will give Roofe huge confidence ahead of the crucial game in midweek.

The Gers need to score in the second leg, and if Roofe can replicate another similar performance against the Portuguese outfit, Rangers can hope to progress further in the competition.

The league is almost as good as over but they have a great chance to progress into the semi-final on Thursday.

In other Rangers news, Kris Boyd has predicted this Gers fringe player to leave because van Bronckhorst doesn’t trust him.
