Michael Stewart predicts if Rangers can usurp Celtic to SPFL title
Michael Stewart does not see Rangers usurping Celtic to the SPFL title after their recent 2-1 defeat at Ibrox.
That result put Gers six points behind their rivals with not too long left to go in the campaign.
He believes that what matters domestically is the cup quarter-final between the two Glasgow sides as the league is a forgone conclusion.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene, Stewart said, “It’s over. For a couple of reasons.
“The fact that Celtic are now nine points ahead, the goal difference is massive and they are peaking.
“Ange Postecoglou has spoken about this on a number of occasions, peaking at the right time.
“The league’s done. The big thing is now whether they’re going to be able to get through the semi-final against Rangers and that is massive for Rangers.
“That is the key domestically for Rangers. Obviously they’re still right in the hunt in Europe with this game against Braga.
“In terms of the league, there’s no coming back for anybody. Celtic are the champions.”
No hope?
Stewart speaks like the league is done and dusted, but stranger things have happened in football.
Sure, Celtic are the favourites to win it and we knew that since the Old Firm victory.

Gers looked clueless in the second period and deserved to lose.
However, even if the Hoops take their foot off the pedal in one game, that can cost them points.
If that happens, Rangers are right back in it and a few wins could build momentum that could be crucial in the run in to the final matches of the season.
In other Rangers news, the club have terminated a major deal citing a breach of contract which also comprises of significant branding issues.
