Dr Dan shares if Rangers plan Ibrox redevelopment after mooted £70m windfall
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers...
Rangers are not planning any wholesale changes to the Ibrox despite them being set for a multi-million windfall.
That’s according to Dr Dan Plumley, who believes that they might look to increase their revenues from other streams.
However, increasing the capacity of the ground or making any significant changes, do not seem to be the priority, as things stand.

Football Insider reported in March that the club are on course to announce revenues of up to £70million.
Discussing this mooted multi-million pound windfall, the Sheffield Hallam University expert does not see it being put back into the stadium.
He told Ibrox News, “There are no plans to develop Ibrox massively despite this expected windfall.
“So that’s tough to pin a lot of growth on that [stadium].
“Then you’re looking commercially and you can see why they signed up for Australia so some of the potential is within their control and some of it is not in their control as it’s linked with the domestic league they’re in.”

The expected windfall is understood to be a big deal for the Ibrox giants, given their financial issues of late.
The final figure will hinge on their position in the league as well as how far they can go in the Europa League.
In other Rangers news, the club have terminated a major deal citing a breach of contract which also comprises of significant branding issues.
