Chris Sutton sends major Rangers warning to Celtic

Chris Sutton has sent a major warning to Celtic to keep their eye on Rangers and not let anything slip in the Scottish Premiership.

The Bears slipped six points behind their fierce rivals last week after crashing to a 2-1 defeat in the latest Old Firm.

Sutton insisted that Rangers are still champions though, and won’t let the title go away that easily with one derby still to go.

Rangers

Writing in his latest Daily Record column, Sutton sent a major warning to Celtic for the rest of the season.

“Rangers are still the champions,” he wrote. “They still have a league trip to Parkhead on their fixture list.

“They can still give Celtic food for thought.

“That’ll only happen if my old team lets their standards slip and, to be quite honest with you, I don’t see it happening.”

Champions.

It is time to prove it.

We have seen our own standards slip far too often this season, and the way we have thrown this away is nothing short of embarrassing.

It isn’t the defeats against Celtic that are the worst, it’s throwing away wins against the likes of Dundee United, Motherwell and Aberdeen that have killed us.

There are six points alone there, and that is the gap, even with losing twice to Celtic in recent weeks and months.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst needs to unleash on this squad and get his message across because right now, they have let standards slip.

That isn’t acceptable.

We simply have to win every last game available now and hope that Celtic lose another one of their fixtures on top of the last domestic league Old Firm.
