Barry Ferguson demands Rangers ace Aaron Ramsey ‘start every game’ until end of the season
Barry Ferguson says Aaron Ramsey must start every Rangers game between now and the end of the season because he can make the difference.
Ramsey has scored in each of his last two starts, but was left on the bench for the midweek Europa League defeat to Braga and was an unused substitute.
But former captain Ferguson, while speaking on Go Radio, believes the Welshman should be ‘banging on the door’ of Giovanni van Bronckhorst to feature and feels he should ‘start every game’.

“I thought in the Celtic game, he had a good one,” he said. “He gets off to a flier with the goal and then some decent passages of play came through him.
“Did I think he would play against Braga? But that tells me he is still not ready to play three games in a week. He isn’t 100% fit.
“There’s no doubt in my mind next Thursday (the second leg against Braga) he starts that match. But you also need to live in hope that you can catch Celtic.
“For me, Ramsey has to play. I would be banging down the manager’s door and saying I am ready, I am available. Whenever you need me, I’m ready.
“There’s six weeks left of the season and potentially 12 games. He could be the difference in these big games, and Rangers have a number of them coming up. He has to start every game.”

Big game player
This period of the season is exactly why Ramsey was brought to Ibrox, for his experience and quality in the big games.
Rangers started their biggest month of the season in the worst possible way with back-to-back defeats against Celtic and Braga, but Ramsey shone in the Old Firm derby and then didn’t feature in Portugal.
His third-man runs, technical security in the final third and ability to chip in with goals and assists are exactly what is missing from a side who have lost their best attacker.
If the manager isn’t ready to trust Ramsey to play in these big games, then it raises the question of why they bothered to sign him in the first place.
He must play if they want to stop the rot and prevent their season going from a potential treble to potentially nothing at all in the space of two weeks.
