Chris Sutton takes aim at Ally McCoist live on BT Sport after what he saw him do before Rangers loss v Celtic

Chris Sutton has urged Ally McCoist to cheer up after Rangers crashed to defeat against Celtic last weekend.

McCoist was poked at after he was spotted in an embrace with Ange Postecoglou before the game at Ibrox.

The Scottish Premiership title race looks as much as over at the minute, with a six-point gap now facing the Bears.

Speaking live on BT Sports Scottish Football Extra, Sutton kicked off the interaction with a big shot at the Bears icon.

“Your big hug with big Ange,” he said. “It was just like you were Neil Lennon back in the day, wasn’t it?”

McCoist was clearly not impressed: “Not really, no. I met Angebefore the game for the first time, I wished him all the very best and he said do you mean that? You know full well I don’t.”

Sutton followed up the clip with a simple message for McCoist on Twitter, telling him to “Cheer up, Ally.”

Here we go.

This is always one of the worst points of losing to Celtic.

Being forced to listen to this clown on a regular basis, he simply cannot help himself when it comes to Rangers, he can’t keep our name out of his mouth.

McCoist is all of us at this moment in time, and you can see how gutted he is in his eyes when answering the question.

How on earth has it got to this during this season? We hate to say it, but the loss of Alfredo Morelos saw confidence drain from us all before the game even kicked off.

It’s time to put that behind us though, nothing is over yet and it would be one of the most amazing moments should we turn this around.

We have to believe.
