BBC pundit Alan Hutton: Rangers close to £10million windfall, Kenny Miller calls it ‘huge’

Alan Hutton has insisted that Rangers will take their Europa League windfall above £10million should they beat Braga in the quarter-final.

The BBC pundit admitted it was a great incentive, with Kenny Miller reacting and labelled it “huge” for the Bears.

That, of course, includes money already earned up to this stage and the potential for it to skyrocket more throughout the competition, but there is a mountain to climb with the score at 1-0 after the first leg.

Speaking live on BT Sport last night [07 April], Hutton shared the major news that will tell you how important the second leg is.

“If they get through this round, we’re talking £10million+,” he said.

“But ultimately, the goal is to go all of the way and win it, that gives you the Champions League football they all crave.”

Miller was left stunned by the figures behind all of this success, and couldn’t hide his massive smile ahead of kick-off.

“It’s a huge incentive, but you look at the teams in that draw, it’s a long, long way away.”

Wow.

Well, this would be incredible for the Bears.

All of the talk has been about that huge £40million windfall that automatically qualifying for the Champions League will bring you.

Celtic are currently in the driving seat by six points in the Scottish Premiership, so winning the Europa League may be our last chance.

Of course, that is a long way away as Miller says, but it would be a huge achievement given some of the teams left in the competition.

Rangers will need to bridge the gap to Celtic on and off the pitch next season if they win the title, and this could be our best way of doing it.

Braga are no pushovers, though, and we have to concentrate on the second leg, before we get carried away by this potential windfall.
