Ally McCoist stunned by perfect Ryan Kent moment for Rangers v Braga

Ally McCoist was left thrilled by Rangers winger Ryan Kent in the opening 45 minutes against Braga last night [07 April].

The Bears were without Alfredo Morelos for the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final, adding the responsibility on Kent’s shoulders.

McCoist was blown away by a piece of skill by the attacker, leading to a perfect pass out to Scott Arfield on the counter-attack.

Speaking live on BT Sport this evening [07 April], McCoist was thrilled by what he saw the winger do in Portugal.

“Brilliant from Kent,” he said.

“It really is, the stepover in the middle of the park to get himself away and then the perfectly weighted pass to Arfield. That was very, very encouraging play from Kent.”

Rangers

Isolated.

The real issue facing Kent and the Bears was that the winger was the only one who looked as though he could hurt the home side.

Morelos was a huge loss once again as he was against Celtic, and Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be left scratching his head on how that injury doesn’t ruin his season.

Kent can only do so much, and Yan Couto for large parts did keep him quiet, but those glimpses of pace and skill gave us hope throughout.

The winger has everything in his locker, but even he will admit that he wanted more from this season in all competitions.

Only Kent can get us on our feet as much compared to anyone else in this current squad, but he must be raging with what happened in the final third this evening.

With only a 1-0 lead coming to Ibrox, Braga will be fearful of the likes of Kent next week, who will have a huge role to play.

In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart has shared his reaction to a “huge” development at Ibrox to come in April
