Tam McManus suggests Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos will Rangers

Tam McManus is confident Rangers duo – Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos – will leave Ibrox in the summer.

The popular pundit suggests that the Gers planned to make a big profit of around £30-40million by keeping their star players, but it hasn’t worked for them.

Morelos will enter the final year of his contract in the summer, and McManus feels it’s time for him to quit the club.

McManus said on PLZ Soccer: “They gambled, they kept Morelos, Kent – there were probably offers for them in the summer there, but they thought, ‘This a great opportunity for us to get the Champions League money, win the league and get that £30-40million, we’ll keep our best players’.

“But I think if Rangers don’t win the Europa League, and don’t win the league, I think Morelos and Kent will be away, because they’re not going to sign another contract, for me – they’ll be wanting to test themselves at a higher level. This is their opportunity.

“Morelos doesn’t leave this summer, he might end up with a testimonial. He might end up there when he’s 35 and at 35 we’re thinking, he might get a move.

“He’s got to go now, Morelos. You can see how much he was missed at the weekend.

“He’s a top striker and if the rumours are right and he’s picked up a bad injury and missing the end of the season, he’ll maybe not kick another ball for Rangers.”

Bitter truth

Morelos has been outstanding for the club, and fans will understand if he wants to move on.

He is the top scorer at the club with 19 goals. The Colombian was particularly impressive in the Europa League this season for the Gers.

Having scored over 100 goals for the Gers, it’s probably time for him to look for pastures new.

Rangers must look to get the best deal out of him in the summer. Alternatively, they can take the route that they did with Connor Goldson, but that would be a stupid decision.

He is a bankable asset and the club must capitalise on it, and reinvest in the squad.

Kent, like Morelos, could look to move on if he gets good offers from Premier League clubs in the summer.

The winger has been simply outstanding for the club, and it would be seen as good business if Rangers can recoup at least double the money of what they paid for him.

In other Rangers news, we believe Giovanni van Bronckhorst will make two changes for the Europa League game against Braga on Thursday.
