Martin Fraisl No 1 target for Rangers in summer as player speaks out
Schalke goalkeeper Martin Fraisl is Rangers’ number one target for the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on 5 April [page 48] that Fraisl, 28, has emerged on the radar at Ibrox with doubts surrounding Allan McGregor’s future in Govan.
It is understood that Fraisl is “certain to leave” 2. Bundesliga club Schalke and he’s confirmed that the next club he signs for will be his last.

As quoted by the Daily Record, the Austrian shot-stopper said: “I have made it my aim to play the last 10 years at least of my pro career at the same club.
“I want to play until I’m 42.
“My body resembles that of an 18-year-old.”

Really?
Rangers do need at least one new goalkeeper in the summer.
McGregor is 40-years-old now and while the veteran Scottish goalkeeper has still put in some tremendous performances this season, he’s also been culpable of numerous clangers.
All in all, McGregor is worse this season than he is last season.
But Fraisl is currently playing for Schalke in Germany’s second-tier and probably the most well-known of his former clubs is ADO Den Haag.
Other than them, it’s a list of teams that Rangers fans are unlikely to have heard of so we don’t get how this can be our number one target?
Talk about underwhelming.
This summer is a summer where we could lose top players like Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Joe Aribo and Connor Goldson.
Yet for some reason, a 28-year-old Austrian goalkeeper – who’s never won an international cap – playing in second-tier football is our top target.
Ross Wilson needs to have a word with himself if this is true.
In other Rangers news, Andy Walker was outraged by the “ridiculous” incident he spotted at Ibrox.
