Sir Alex Ferguson wants Manchester United to sign Rangers sensation Rory Wilson

Sir Alex Ferguson is “pushing” for Manchester United to sign Rangers starlet Rory Wilson, according to Rising Ballers.

The news outlet, who are experts on up-and-coming young footballers, reported on their Instagram account with over 650,000 followers that United’s technical director Darren Fletcher is also keen on 16-year-old Wilson.

It is understood that Wilson is “one of the most wanted youngsters right now”.

In-demand

This isn’t the first story we’ve seen linking Wilson with a move away from Ibrox.

As reported by the Daily Star, the teenage sensation is in “astonishing” form this season for Rangers’ youth teams, having scored 40 goals for the club.

However, the newspaper also reported on 25 March that Liverpool and Manchester City are also keen on the youngster.

He’s reportedly going to reject the chance to sign a professional contract at Ibrox as he aims to follow in the steps of Billy Gilmour, who quit Rangers as a teenager to join Chelsea.

Based on Gilmour’s example, Wilson has every right to do that – but every players’ path is different.

We’re not going to sit here and say what a 16-year-old should and shouldn’t do but if someone like Man United legend Ferguson wants you at Old Trafford, it’s not something that should be ignored.

If Wilson goes, we wish him all the best.

It’s a shame that it hasn’t quite worked out for him here because based on his form, he’d probably get more senior chances sooner in his career.

But if he wants to go, he should go.

In other Rangers news, Andy Walker was outraged by the “ridiculous” incident he spotted at Ibrox.
