Rangers set to cast vote in April as SPFL propose introduction of VAR
Rangers will reportedly be casting their vote later in April about the introduction of VAR in the SPFL next season.
Most of Europe’s major leagues and international tournaments have the assistance of VAR for their games.
This gives the referees a chance to get a better look at situations and often avoids them from making glaring errors.
Via his personal Twitter account, talkSPORT’s David Tanner wrote, “All SPFL clubs to vote this month on whether to introduce VAR to the cinch Premiership.
“The resolution requires 75 % of Premiership clubs, 75 % of clubs in the Championship and 75% of clubs in L1 & L2 combined to vote in favour.”
About time
It’s about time the Premiership accepts the introduction of VAR as some leagues have had it for three seasons now.
While that has not stopped controversies from happening, it has clarified many offside calls.
Sometimes, we see the glaringly obvious decisions not given in the SPFL and it costs teams dearly.

With VAR, there will still be a healthy debate but at least the referee will have a chance to revisit his decision and change it if he thinks he’s made a clear and obvious error.
The voting system is a bit odd as it should only be applicable to teams of the respective league.
It will be weird to see Rangers’ decisions impacted by teams voting in the third division.
In other Rangers news, the club have terminated a major deal citing a breach of contract which also comprises of significant branding issues.
