Chris Sutton flies off hinges in new Monday rant after Rangers controversy v Celtic
Chris Sutton has been left raging on Monday after glass bottles were thrown on the pitch in Rangers defeat against Celtic.
The start of the second half was delayed after the incident, with a member of Celtic staff also requiring stitches in a separate incident.
Sutton was left “gobsmacked” at what happened at Ibrox, labelling the incident as simply disgraceful.

Writing in his new Monday morning [04 April] column for the Daily Record, Sutton was left gobsmacked by the incident.
“The fact he was having to deal with a broken bottle in his box was the one thing that made me angry during the game,” he said.
“It is absolutely disgraceful that someone would consider walking into a stadium with a bottle in their possession and then throw it into a park.
“It left me gobsmacked. I’m a big supporter of Scottish football and I stand up for the game whenever I can, but there’s nothing you say to defend that.”

Embarrassing.
We are all for creating that hostile environment in these Old Firm games, but this incident was simply embarrassing.
Whoever threw that bottle needs to be punished accordingly, and a lifetime ban will likely follow for those found guilty.
This could have caused serious damage to any player on the pitch, with sharp glass easily capable of slicing someone open if they fell on top of, or slid over the broken bottle.
We get that the Old Firm is made to be a scary atmosphere for either side travelling away from home, but this is certainly not the way to do it.
This tarnished everything that was good about our support yesterday, and it just casts a dark shadow over the club, it isn’t good enough.
