BBC journalist Chris McLaughlin: SPFL await delegate report with Rangers needing to answer questions

The SPFL are awaiting the delegate report from Rangers 2-1 defeat against Celtic before taking any action, according to Chris McLaughlin.

The BBC journalist insists that the Bears will have questions to answer after fans threw glass bottles onto the pitch which smashed on impact.

It is expected that Rangers will likely receive a fine, but it could be even worst given the severity of the incident which caused outrage.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this afternoon [04 April], McLaughlin shared the latest state of play.

“The SPFL is awaiting the delegate report from yesterday’s game at Ibrox but Rangers will clearly have some questions to answer regarding the behaviour of some of the club’s fans,” he wrote.

Clowns.

We still can’t believe what we were watching before the second half got underway at Ibrox yesterday.

It was sheer lunacy that someone could throw glass onto the field and what if that had injured or sliced someone? It would have led to a stadium-wide ban.

We don’t care about the rivalry at this stage, this was about human decency and safety, something that clearly went over the head of one if not more fans.

Those found responsible for this must be banned for life, but it won’t just be them who are punished after this.

Rangers are also going to have to pay the price for it, and they will have to answer questions just as McLaughlin has suggested.

Someone needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror and grow up – this is unacceptable at any level of football.
