Tom English blasts ‘brainless’ Rangers fans after bottle thrown v Celtic
Rangers all but waved goodbye to their Scottish Premiership title hopes as they were beaten 2-1 by Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox.
Aaron Ramsey’s third-minute goal was as good as it got for the Light Blues as Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers won the game for the Hoops to go six points clear at the top of the league.
There was one incident however that overshadowed anything that happened in the game as one Rangers fan threw a glass bottle toward Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The second half was slightly delayed as the ground staff cleared the shards from the penalty area and the BBC’s Tom English did not hold back when addressing the situation.
“It is disgusting. It’s brainless. It’s hard to get your head around,” English said. “Because it’s not just Joe Hart and the Celtic defenders who are put at risk there, the Rangers attackers are going to be in that penalty box too.
“So, whoever’s done that – it is disgraceful, it’s mindless. I hope they have footage of it because they’ve got security cameras all over Ibrox so let’s see if they can find who did that and get rid of them for good because that’s really despicable stuff.”
Disgrace
Whoever you are, please do not return to Ibrox again, you are not welcome.

We all love the rivalry between the two teams and shouting at Celtic players is all well and good if you’re not being offensive but this goes too far.
As English points out, it isn’t just Hart who could have been injured from this idiotic moment and had it cut a Gers player badly, whoever it was would have been rather sheepish.
There was absolutely no need to do such a barbaric act regardless of the opposition or the fact that they were winning, it is just plain immaturity.
Let’s hope the club and the police do find out who the moron is because they have to be severely punished for their actions, maybe even a lengthy ban from Ibrox altogether.
This one person has ruined the amazing spectacle of the Old Firm derby and the impeccable behaviour of the vast majority in the ground.
In other Rangers news, Ally McCoist was furious at what he saw today as he delivered his scathing verdict on the defeat.
