Chris Sutton goes berserk at ‘scumbags’ over Rangers glass bottle incident v Celtic
Chris Sutton is furious after glass had to be cleared off the pitch at the start of the second half of Rangers’ 2-1 defeat to Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday.
After the players returned to the field, Joe Hart made referee Willie Collum aware of a shattered glass bottle that had smashed in his penalty area.
The second half was delayed by around five minutes as groundsmen cleared up the glass, leading to a heavily critical reaction by Sutton.

“Absolute scumbags throwing glass bottles onto the pitch,” said Sutton via his personal Twitter account as the glass was cleared off the pitch.
“How low can some people go?
“This is how this game will be remembered now.”
Disgraceful
While we hope that the culprit of this mindless, idiotic act is found, banned for life and punished by the police, we also feel as though the SFA might act.
If we’re hit with a stadium ban for this, we cannot have any complaints.
Firstly, how did a glass bottle get into the ground? It seems as though supporters were not being checked sufficiently before they made their way into the ground.
And, secondly, that act could have seriously harmed any player on the pitch.
It was a good job that Hart spotted the glass because what if Kemar Roofe fell down on it or slide along the ground onto it?
What is a couple of players went down together in the area the glass was found?
Yes, we’re talking about hypothetical situations here but this is genuinely what could have happened if the glass wasn’t spotted.
Players’ well-being was put in danger because of a Rangers supporter.
We’re going to be punished heavily for this.
