Carlos Carvalhal in police encounter ahead of Rangers Europa League tie
Braga manager Carlos Carvalhal had to persuade police at Rangers to allow him into Ibrox to watch the Old Firm derby, according to The National.
The two sides are set to meet in the Europa League quarter-finals in the next two weeks and Carvalhal was looking to get a headstart on preparation.
He arrived at Ibrox ready to watch Rangers take on Celtic in a crucial game in the Scottish Premiership title race but he had to get past the Glasgow police before he could get into the ground.

He did eventually get into the ground where he witnessed Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side throw away an early lead to lose 2-1 against their Old Firm rivals.
Aaron Ramsey scored the Light Blues’ goal but they fell six points adrift of the Hoops who took a firm grip on the Scottish Premiership trophy for this season.
Should have kept him out
If Braga turn up and roll Rangers over with ease on Thursday then we can all point to this moment as to why.
Had the police decided he wasn’t going to attend, then there would be a huge advantage for the Gers that they could have carried all the way into the semi-finals.

The Portuguese outfit will now be very well equipped to deal with whatever Rangers are able to throw at them and that could be enough to give them enough to advance to the last four.
Why Carvalhal had to travel all the way to Glasgow to watch the game is odd considering he could have easily watched it from the comfort of his own sofa thanks to the magic of TV and technology.
This hopefully won’t play any major role in the result of the Europa League quarter-final because the road to the final looks favourable for whoever wins over two legs.
