BBC pundit Martin Keown takes swipe at Rangers fans after pulling out of Celtic friendly
Martin Keown believes Rangers fans were being narrow-minded while making calls to cancel the friendly against Celtic in Australia.
After tremendous backlash from the supporters, Gers decided to pull out of the Sydney Cup competition.
This was widely respected by the fanbase despite it resulting in the loss of an opportunity to make a big pay day.

BBC’s Keown said on talkSPORT, “As an initiative the money, the proceeds could have went to Ukraine. There are so many proceeds it could have gone towards.
“It is narrow minded from the Rangers fans, but at the moment they are being wound up.
“It’s an amazing fixture but it’s localised because people aren’t putting bitterness to one side.”
Ridiculous
Keown does not understand the point of the fury from the Gers faithful.
He does not understand the integrity angle of it and is only focusing on the finances.
It is ridiculous to suggest something so daft and the supporters were right to protest.
Had they not made their voices clear, it never would have happened.

This shows how important fan power is and we’re delighted to see the hierarchy listening to its supporters.
Hopefully, ideas like these are not floated again in the future as they’re going to end in a similar way.
As for Keown, he should stop talking about things he’s got no idea about and focus on his area of expertise which is the Premier League.
In other Rangers news, the club may sign a Dutch international to replace Allan McGregor and the keeper’s contract also expires in the summer.
