Rangers’ Allan McGregor’s ‘unbelievable’ experience can help win v Celtic – Kirk Broadfoot
This Sunday’s Old Firm derby at Ibrox looks set to be the biggest game in recent history for both Rangers and Celtic with a title at stake.
The Light Blues sit just three points adrift of the table-topping Hoops going into the clash knowing that victory makes things all square heading into the run-in.
Former Gers defender Kirk Broadfoot believes that the first step to retaining the Scottish Premiership crown can be taken at the weekend if Allan McGregor steps up to the plate.

“Allan has been unbelievable not only this season but in his entire time at Rangers,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“Steven (Davis) has been exactly the same. I know he has had a couple of injuries this season but that’s the only thing that has stopped him.
“These guys have shown on the park they can contribute and especially in the big games.
“Sunday is another of those where Rangers will be looking to draw level with Celtic at the top and the experience of both could be vital.
“They have been there and done it and know what it takes to get over the line in these games. Giovanni van Bronckhorst will also know that.”
Time for calm heads
It’s still two days until the game comes around but the excitement appears to be through the roof already.

That’s what the Old Firm derby does better than any other rivalry in world football but the players and management can’t afford to get caught up in all the noise.
van Bronckhorst and his players need to shut out all of the outside noise, of which there is a lot, and simply focus on finding the best way to beat Ange Postecoglu’s side at Ibrox.
By all means, get fired up for the battle and be ready to go in strong early on to set the tone but each and every one of them needs to be cool-headed to make the right choices in the heat of the moment.
It’s a fine line to tread but it is crucial that they do things right as defeat on Sunday all but hands the title to their Glasgow rivals.
In other Rangers news, there is a huge update regarding the fitness of one of van Bronckhorst’s key players.
