Chris Sutton shares prediction ahead of Rangers v Celtic clash

Rangers will face Celtic in a crucial Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday (03 April) at Ibrox.

It’s a must-win game for the Gers where a victory will see them go level on points with their rivals.

Chris Sutton has suggested that it’s difficult to pick a winner in this case, but a win for Celtic would surely end all hopes for the Bears.

Rangers

“That one is 50-50 for me and, in many ways, that sums up the entire contest,” wrote Sutton for The Daily Record.

“It’s like back to my playing days at Celtic. We were strong. Rangers were strong. The games were tough to call and could come down to a moment of inspiration or madness.

“It’s looking like that again and picking a winner is almost impossible.

“But I do know that, if Celtic win it, it’s a massive step towards a title success no-one thought possible last summer.

“And if they are going to do so, the two boys at the back are going to have to be rock solid again.”

Massive

It’s a massive game and it’s hard to pick a winner in a big game like this.

Celtic have been really impressive in the Scottish Premiership. Since the 1-0 defeat against Livingston back in September, the Bhoys haven’t lost a league game.

They have drawn only four games since their last defeat, which shows they’ve been very consistent in the league.

On the other hand, Rangers have struggled with their form in the league, and even lost 3-0 against the Hoops in their previous Old Firm game.

Rangers

At the same time, the Gers have been outstanding in the Europa League this season, and they have moved into the quarter-finals of the competition.

This could turn out to be a massive season for them, if they can win the title and also move on to the semi-finals (if not beyond) of the European competition.

Big games are often decided by a moment of inspiration. Rangers will hope they can take full advantage of their home support to find that extra edge in the derby.
