BBC pundit Charlie Adam reacts to ‘Huge’ Rangers blow with Alfredo Morelos injury v Celtic

Charlie Adam has insisted that Alfredo Morelos missing for Rangers against Celtic with injury is a “huge” loss.

The BBC pundit admitted that Celtic duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfeldt will be delighted by the news coming out of Ibrox.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed the news on Friday with Morelos even expected to miss the huge first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals with Braga on Thursday.

Speaking live on PLZ Soccer this afternoon [01 April], Adam could not hold back after the news broke.

“Morelos is a huge loss,” he said.

“He’s the main number nine, he’s been sensational in the past couple of years in Europe and there’s nobody else in that Rangers squad that can do what he can do.

“So, they’ll have to adapt a little bit different. Starfeldt and Carter-Vickers will be delighted.”

Huge.

This is it, this is the biggest Old Firm game in years, possibly even in the past decade for both Rangers and Celtic.

It won’t be spoken about much, but whoever wins this could easily go on to win and lift the Scottish Premiership this season.

Van Bronckhorst will be gutted to miss Morelos, who has been an animal since working with Roy Makaay.

Kemar Roofe is going to come in, that is guaranteed after the blow, and he will be relishing this chance, especially if Starfeldt and Carter-Vickers are expecting an easier afternoon.

The Jamaican has to use that as motivation to wipe those smiles off their faces instantly and make their lives hell at the back.

It is time to make a huge statement, let’s get that win, regardless of this huge injury news coming out of Ibrox.
