Alan Thompson picks out three Rangers threats in Old Firm, makes prediction
Celtic hero Alan Thompson has named three Rangers players that hold the key to victory in the Old Firm derby this weekend, while speaking to Sky Sports.
The two sides will meet at Ibrox on Sunday lunchtime in a huge title decider, with a win for the home side putting them level on points at the top of the table.
Thompson, who played for Celtic for six years, believes it’s a ‘must win’ game for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side and named Aaron Ramsey, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos as the players his former side must pay special attention to.
“Celtic will have to defend well,” he said. Rangers have got a real threat at the top of the pitch with Morelos, Ryan Kent and Aaron Ramsey if he’s fit.
“I think you can say it is a must win game for Rangers because like we say, there’s seven games to go and six points [difference] if Celtic win, three points it stays if it’s a draw.
“So yeah, I think you can say it’s a must-win game for Rangers if they want to go on and try to win the title.
“He’ll [Ramsey] be a big player for them on Sunday.
“He’s played in big games with big clubs – Arsenal, Juventus, Wales, so it’ll be no shock to his system but he’ll be looking forward to it and certainly Celtic will have to keep an eye on him.
“Ryan Kent as I mentioned too, Morelos too, so Celtic will have to be switched on defensively.
“I’m going to go for 1-0 Celtic.”

Bias
Obviously he’d go for a Celtic win, but everything else he said is pretty much spot on in fairness.
This is a must-win game for Rangers, because anything else means the title is firmly out of their hands going into the final six games of the season. With at least one more Old Firm derby to come in the league, a win for us puts it firmly in our hands.
Ramsey finally showed some promise against Dundee before the international break and was good for Wales too. He should be well rested after missing their second game and gives GvB a selection headache.
Kent has been in great form recently too and is always dangerous, but Morelos looks likely to miss out which is a huge loss to the team. Kemar Roofe is likely to come in and will need to play out of his skin.
Despite a European quarter-final in midweek, it should be all attention on this game on Sunday and lets show Celtic why we’re the reigning champions.
