Dado Prso recalls brutal Rangers v Celtic rivalry that left him with stitches
Rangers against Celtic in the Old Firm derby is one of the most physical games of football you will find anywhere in Europe.
The two arch-rivals from Glasgow have been going at it for decades and the brutal nature of the game can often surprise those coming in from overseas.
That is certainly the case for Croatian Dado Prso who encountered the Old Firm derby for the Gers during the final three years of his career between 2004 and 2007.

“I often say, in Scotland, on the pitch, it’s neither football nor rugby, but a mixture of the two,” Prso said, as quoted by Rangers Review.
“In 20 years of football in France, I never had a single stitch, I had not been stitched up once.
“On the other hand, in three years at Rangers, I counted 29 stitches on my skull.”
Prepare for battle
Giovanni van Bronkhorst could do worse things than show his squad Prso’s comments before they take to the field on Sunday for their biggest game of the season.

Every single player who steps onto the Ibrox turf will have to be 100% ready for a proper fight if they want to keep their Scottish Premiership title hopes alive.
It was something that was lacking when Celtic steamrolled the Light Blues at Parkhead in February and the boss cannot accept anything similar to that display at the weekend.
The home support will surely give those Rangers players that extra 5-10% of energy that Parkhead gave the Hoops in the previous encounter but they have to harness that in the right way.
While a battle will take place, they have to make sure they don’t use all of their energy trying to fight and still play the Rangers way that has worked so well this season.
In other Rangers news, Zurab Khizanishvili wants this Gers ace to remain at Ibrox despite interest in his services.
