Alfredo Morelos now ‘huge’ doubt for Rangers showdown v Celtic – report

Rangers have been hit by the bombshell news that they could be without Alfredo Morelos against Celtic on Sunday.

It has now been reported by the Glasgow Evening Times that the Bufalo is now a “huge” doubt for the game at Ibrox.

The Colombian has been spotted on crutches today at Glasgow airport, with nerves rising dramatically ahead of the Old Firm.

Morelos is said to be travelling to London for scans on a muscle injury, one he may have picked up before the international break.

Medical staff member Russell Parker has accompanied the striker, as the Bears looks to get to the bottom of the problem.

It is said that Rangers could choose Kemar Roofe to start ahead of Morelos in what promises to be a huge encounter.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is set to face the media tomorrow [Friday 1 April], and surely now he will officially rule out his main man.

Huge doubt, huge problem.

This is the one injury that could seriously derail us.

Morelos is like no other in the final third, and although Roofe has looked sharp recently, it isn’t the same.

Hopefully, he can prove us wrong with a huge performance if starting, but we all know what Morelos is capable of in these big games.

With the Europa League quarter-finals coming up with Braga in a week, this has come at the worst possible time for everyone at the club.

If missing this weekend meant that Morelos could be at 100% for the Europa League and beyond, it could be one of those risks we simply have to take.
