Alan Brazil to watch Rangers v Celtic from behind couch, admits he’s worried about Old Firm showdown

Celtic-mad Alan Brazil is worried his former club will lose to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox on Sunday.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men will welcome the Hoops to Govan knowing that an Old Firm victory will take them level on points at the top of the table.

Speaking on talkSPORT this morning [31 March], Ibrox legend Ally McCoist asked ex-Celtic striker Brazil what his plans are for the game this weekend.

Brazil said, as quoted by the Glasgow Times: “From behind the couch.

“I am worried about Sunday, but I am not worried about the semi-final, I am not worried about the final game, the decider at Parkhead.”

Keep on worrying, Alan

Why would Brazil be worried about this upcoming game and not the other two Old Firm derbies left to play this season?

After Rangers welcome Celtic to Ibrox on Sunday for the penultimate Scottish Premiership clash between the two title-chasers, there’ll also be a showdown at Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup semi-finals and also the post-split clash.

Rangers

While Brazil isn’t worried about them because they’re not at Ibrox – we assume – maybe he should worry about them a bit more because his side’s chances of winning silverware could hinge upon them.

If Rangers lose this weekend, our title hopes are over and it’ll also be a killer blow to morale ahead of the semi-final.

That’s understandable.

However, if we win, it’ll mean the momentum will be on our side, Celtic will be scared and they’ll no doubt be affected by that in the final two Old Firms of the campaign.

If we draw on Sunday, it wouldn’t be the worst possible outcome but it would still be a better point for Celtic than it would be for the Gers.

We’ve been fairly consistent in the Old Firms at Ibrox in the last couple of years so let’s hope that we can continue that with van Bronckhorst at the helm.
