GvB must rely on Glen Kamara to deliver for Rangers v Celtic with Ramsey doubtful

Rangers will face Celtic in their next Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday at Ibrox in what is seen as a must-win game for the home side.

The Gers are trailing behind by three points and they cannot afford to drop further points. It is their best chance to close the gap and take control of the title race into their own hands.

However, Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be sweating on the fitness of some of his key players.

The 31-year-old midfielder played 95 minutes for his country in the crucial World Cup qualifier clash against Austria, and it remains to be seen if he is fit enough to take part in Sunday’s crucial game.

In case, he misses out, Van Bronckhorst should get his plan B option ready, which means he must rely on Glen Kamara.

Kamara has struggled for form this season. He was poor against Celtic at Parkhead and was dropped as a result against Hearts in the following game.

The Finland international is a quality midfielder when on song, and James McFadden previously hailed him on Sky Sports as a “fantastic” (06 February) player.

Rangers need to stop the Bhoys from dominating the midfield. Kamara is not the first-choice option at the club, but he has got loads of experience.

He knows how to deal with the pressure, and Van Bronckhorst should look to bring him into the starting line-up if Ramsey fails to make the cut.
