Rangers fans warned of ‘lengthy bans’ for pitch invasion v Celtic
Rangers chiefs are ready to slap supporters who invade the pitch at any time with “lengthy bans” after a flood of recent events, according to the Scottish Sun.
The Light Blues were recently fined by UEFA for a pitch invasion after their superb 4-2 win against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League last month.
It happened again at the Gers’ 150th Anniversary legends game with groups of young supporters charging onto the field after the game in an attempt to get selfies and shirts from some of the footballing royalty on display at Ibrox.

SunSport now say: “The champions will send out a message ahead of the visit of Ange Postecoglou’s side to reiterate that they won’t tolerate anyone going onto the playing surface.
“With anyone defying the orders facing lengthy bans from entering the stadium.”
Don’t ruin it
We’re all for enjoying the beautiful game and there is no better spectacle than an Old Firm derby as we’ll get to digest this weekend.
But we desperately need everyone to remember how their own actions can affect the football club and another pitch invasion will do no good for anyone.

The absolute last thing Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his players need is the added distraction of supporters breaking onto the pitch at any time with the biggest game of the season on the line.
Yes, the rivalry is intense and by all means, give the Hoops players and fans as much stick as you like as long as you do so within the rules of the Scottish FA.
You will only be damaging yourself if you decide to enter the field of play and you won’t be able to see the mighty Rangers for some time afterwards so do yourselves a favour, if you were considering it, and don’t bother.
In other Rangers news, Celtic have suffered an injury blow during the international break that might impact their team for the Old Firm derby on Sunday.
