Chris Sutton on BBC: Rangers are flying but Ange Postecoglou deserves the Manager of the Year award

Chris Sutton has flown into his most ridiculous anti-Rangers rant yet on BBC Radio 5 Live, attempting to justify why Ange Postecoglou should win Manager of the Year.

The BBC pundit insisted that he has enjoyed watching Rangers in Europe, who are “flying” in that competition right now.

But, the worst part is that Sutton believes Postecoglou should win the award no matter who wins the title, even if Giovanni van Bronkhorst pulls it off.

Rangers

Speaking live on BBC Radio 5 Live Monday Night Club, Sutton went off on his ridiculous rant live on air.

“When you think of the mess of which he took over, and to where Celtic are now, they’re ahead,” he said. “Rangers are a good team, I really rate the job Van Bronckhorst has done at Ibrox.

“They’re absolutely flying in European competition, it’s great to see both teams going head to head.

“Regardless of who wins the league, whether it’s Celtic or Rangers, it has to be Postecoglou for Manager of the Year.”

Embarrassing.

So, if Celtic don’t win the Scottish Premiership and get knocked out of the Scottish Cup, they would be left with one cup win.

Assuming they don’t, that would mean that Rangers would lift the league, and have a free shot at finally ending their cup hoodoo at Hampden.

Add that to our success in the Europa League which could see us in the semi-finals by the end of April, and Postecoglou would still deserve Manager of the Year?

There are simply no arguments that can support that.

We can think of others behind Van Bronckhorst who would also deserve it more than Postecoglou, starting with David Martindale at Livingston.

Add Dick Campbell at Arbroath to the list and Postecoglou shouldn’t even make the top three in this scenario.

Sutton continues to let his allegiances slip live on the BBC, and that is simply leading to him looking more embarrassing each time.
