Nacho Novo shares view on Rangers-Celtic Old Firm clash on Sunday

Rangers will face Celtic on Sunday (03 April) in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox after the international break.

The Gers have lost a six-point lead over their rivals, and they now trail the Bhoys by three points.

It’s a massive game for the Scottish champions, and Nacho Novo suggests whoever will win the tie, might go on to win the league.

“Rangers can definitely win the league and go all the way in Europe. They’re a very strong team,” said Novo, as quoted by The Daily Record.

“Obviously on Sunday against Dundee it was difficult for them after a big European game in Belgrade.

“But it doesn’t matter. Sometimes you play good, sometimes you play so-so.

“Winning is all that matters. This team under Gio is looking very good.

“They’re three points behind but Celtic need to come to our home next and I think that game will be vital to deciding who wins the title.”

Huge game

This is going to be a massive game for the Gers, and they are left with no other option but to win this one and get level on points with Celtic.

A victory on Sunday will see Rangers taking control of the title race into their own hands, and they may not have to depend on other results to win the league.

Basically, win every game from here, and the title is yours – that’s the situation at the moment, which is easier said than done.

The Bears will face Braga in the quarter-finals of the Europa League next Thursday (07 April) and it’s going to be another cracking contest.

If Rangers can beat Celtic at Ibrox, they can take huge confidence from that game which they can translate to the European competition.

Nacho is spot on that the Gers do have a strong team, but Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be sweating on the fitness of two of his key players – Alfredo Morelos and Fashion Sakala – ahead of the Old Firm clash.
