Rob Page’s Wales selection hint ideal for Rangers, Aaron Ramsey could be rested
Giovanni van Bronckhorst may have received a big boost ahead of Rangers’ game against Celtic next weekend thanks to Wales manager Rob Page.
With the Old Firm Derby fast approaching, the Dutchman is going to need as many of his troops fit to play as possible and Aaron Ramsey is one of those who always has a question mark over his head.
The 31-year-old has a patchy record with injuries throughout his career and his start to life at Ibrox was equally truncated but he has begun to find regular games in the Gers’ midfield.

Page spoke ahead of Wales’ game against the Czech Republic and suggested that some of his star players may get the evening off.
“We have got to be sensible. We’ve got a duty of care to the players,” Page said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“I’m not going to punish the players again by giving them another 90 minutes against a very good team.
“It’s a great opportunity now because it’s a friendly game and we can use that to our benefit.

“We can give some of the younger players an opportunity to gain international experience and minutes on the pitch. There will be changes made, absolutely.”
That will be music to the ears of van Bronckhorst and Rangers fans everywhere considering Ramsey played the entire 90 minutes against Austria.
At his age, he needs to have fairly regular breaks where possible and an international friendly is as good a time as any to have that.
Page’s choice, if it is to rest Ramsey on Tuesday, will be a massive positive for the entire team with their biggest game of the season rapidly approaching in the distance.
