Ally McCoist breaks Sky Sports protocol to make Rangers v Celtic remark

Ally McCoist showed his wit when discussing Rangers’ upcoming clash with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, according to the Sunday Mail.

The newspaper reports that during Scotland’s draw with Poland on Thursday, Sky Sports advertised the upcoming Old Firm game.

It is understood that McCoist was supposed to have stayed silent when the 3 April showdown was advertised in Scotland’s match.

However, as quoted by the Sunday Mail on 27 March [page 59], he said: “I think I’ll just stay here.”

Super Ally

You’ve got to love McCoist, haven’t you?

Even the most hardened of Celtic fans must have a soft spot for the Ibrox legend due to his charming personality, love for football and balanced overviews.

He really is one of the best – if not the best – pundits in the world of football and not many people have a bad word to say about him.

Rangers’ clash against Celtic at Ibrox next week is a huge one.

As it stands, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men are three points behind leaders Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.

Celtic’s goal difference is also far better than ours, so the gap is more like four points.

Winning is vital, drawing would be a blow, losing would be unthinkable.

There are not many games left to play now this season and if Rangers want to stand a chance of retaining their title, they have to win this one.

We don’t care if it’s a hard-earned 1-0, a scrappy performance or an own-goal that seals it.

Three points is want we demand at the very least.
