Alfredo Morelos doubtful for Rangers v Celtic clash next week
Alfredo Morelos is now a major doubt to be available for Rangers v Celtic, which could ultimately decide the direction of the SPFL crown.
The Colombian, who was on international duty, has been sent back to Scotland after a muscle injury in his thigh.
With only a week to go for the Old Firm derby, the striker is fighting a race against time to be fit for that one.

Glasgow Times relayed the Colombian FA’s statement that read:
“The technical and medical staff of the Colombia Men’s Senior National Team reports that, after performing medical tests on player Alfredo Morelos, a muscle injury in the left thigh was confirmed, which prevented him from participating in the previous match against Bolivia and likewise does not allow him to participate in the next match of the Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
“For this reason, the striker is called off to start his recovery work. We wish the player a good return to his club.”
Big blow
Morelos did not play the reverse game against Celtic in February and that did not turn out too well for Rangers.
They lacked a focal point and some real threat in the final third and history seems to be repeating itself.
With the title race being neck in neck this is the last thing Giovanni van Bronckhorst would’ve wanted.

Despite missing several games through injury, Morelos is still the club’s top scorer this season.
No other player in the squad carries the same amount of threat as the Colombian.
Hopefully, this is a minor scare and he’s fit enough to play on April 3.
In other Rangers news, the club may sign a Dutch international to replace Allan McGregor and the keeper’s contract also expires in the summer.
