Luis Figo sends Rangers fans message after World Legends game

Luis Figo thanked the Rangers fans for giving him the opportunity to raise funds for his charity through the match.

The World Legends beat Rangers Legends by a 3-2 scoreline in what was a thrilling game at the Ibrox.

Figo admitted to feeling emotional to celebrate Gers’ 150th anniversary.

Heart and Hand quoted him as saying, “Luis Figo – I’d like to thank Rangers supporters for giving us all the opportunity to raise funds for my foundation. It was an honour to celebrate this magnificent club’s 150th birthday. I’m feeling very emotional.”

Good game

It was good to see Alex McLeish once again in charge of a Rangers team but unfortunately, they ended up on the losing side.

However, the 38000 people in attendance were clearly treated to some quality football.

Figo rolled back the years and showed that he’s still got it, with a number of key chances in the first 45 minutes.

Rangers

The likes of Kaka and Kris Boyd also had decent moments throughout the game.

It’s nice to see football games used as charity causes and it’s even nicer to see such things take place at a stadium as iconic as Ibrox.

Hopefully, we’re treated to more games at the home of Rangers in the future.

As of now, it’s time to focus on getting the players ready for the final few laps of the season and to oust Celtic from the top spot to win number 56.

In other Rangers news, the club may sign a Dutch international to replace Allan McGregor and the keeper’s contract also expires in the summer.
