Robbie Savage stunned by Rangers hero Aaron Ramsey as Wales beat Austria

Robbie Savage has picked out Rangers star Aaron Ramsey as one of the heroes for Wales after they beat Austria on Thursday.

The midfielder starred alongside Gareth Bale in the 2-1 win, sending his country one game away from the 2022 World Cup.

Savage reigned in on the “Quality” of Ramsey, something he has not yet shown in huge amounts at Ibrox.

Writing in his latest column for the Mirror, Savage singled out Ramsey as one of the heroes for his country this week.

“There are other heroes who have taken Wales to the gates of Qatar 2022, notably manager Robert Page, who has done an outstanding job with brave team selection and rekindling the dragon’s fire,” he wrote.

“Aaron Ramsey’s quality, Daniel James’ pace, Joe Rodon’s temperament under siege, Ben Davies’ know-how, the list goes on and on.”

Hero.

Ramsey was sensational in Cardiff last night.

This sent a big message to Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who will have been delighted by what he saw as Wales beat Austria.

The midfielder has been riddled with injuries and is yet to really make an impact since arriving from Juventus back in January.

Now, after starting against Dundee last week and completing nearly 100 minutes last night against Austria, the only way is up.

Ramsey now has a huge month after of him when returning from Wales duty, after hopefully missing their next friendly.

Games with Celtic don’t usually come around often, but with three expected in April in all competitions, we need those such as Ramsey to be at their best.

Time to become a hero at Ibrox.
