Rangers attacker Fashion Sakala tests positive for Covid
Rangers attacker Fashion Sakala has tested positive for Covid on international duty, the Zambian FA have confirmed.
He was due to play in the international games for Congo, Guinea and the one on Friday against Iraq.
While they confirmed a positive test, they are yet to announce the extent of his absence.

They wrote, “Scotland based Chipolopolo striker Fashion Sakala has been ruled out of the international friendly matches lined up during the FIFA window after testing positive for Covid-19.
“Sakala who is on the books of Glasgow Rangers was part of the 23 member squad named by Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic for Friday’s match against Congo Brazzaville will be in quarantine for seven days.
“FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says the Association has written to Glasgow Rangers on the players’ status and was awaiting formal correspondence.”
Potential blow
The timelines for quarantine have now been reduced but it remains to be seen how severe his case is.
People often show back to back positive cases and that can happen with Sakala as well.

While he isn’t the first name on the team sheet, Giovanni van Bronckhorst would certainly want him available for selection.
Hopefully, he is only out for the international games and back in selection for the SPFL games.
Gers are fighting tooth and nail for every point in this title race and will need all the help that they can get.
In other Rangers news, the club may sign a Dutch international to replace Allan McGregor and the keeper’s contract also expires in the summer.
