Rangers and supporters have to put differences aside until season is over

Tensions at Ibrox are rising quickly as Rangers supporters voice their displeasure with the club’s board over the Sydney Super Cup in November.

Ever since the announcement, fans have questioned the reasoning behind accepting to take part in the tournament and now Club 1872 have issued a statement in which they raise concerns over the executive management of the Light Blues.

One hour later, however, the football club issued their own statement seemingly in response to the shareholders in an attempt to put the disagreements to the side until the season is finished.

“The collective desire of our Board, Management and players, is to have unity of purpose over the coming months,” the statement reads.

“Rest assured, we will address the disruptors and their propaganda war at the end of this season.”

Club 1872 are well within their rights as a shareholder in the club to voice their concerns and Rangers themselves are entitled to respond but maybe the football club is right for now.

In the midst of a fantastic European run that has the Gers in the quarter-finals and a mammoth title battle in the Scottish Premiership, is this the right moment to bring this up?

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men need your undivided support right now and protests at games are absolutely not helping the situation whatsoever.

Having said that, the football club haven’t gone about their statement in the right way either.

It is a very strongly worded, almost attack on their own fanbase and that will not sit well with many if any Light Blues supporters.

They should have simply said that they acknowledged the fans’ view on the situation and that discussions would be had at the end of this season and the bomb would have been diffused.

But they have now set themselves up for a proper battle against those who keep their club ticking from day to day.

In other Rangers news, this Ibrox ace has refused to rule out an exit from Glasgow in the summer.
