Mark Hateley praises ‘very influential’ Aaron Ramsey for performance v Dundee
Aaron Ramsey has been praised for his ‘brilliant’ performance for Rangers against Dundee, with ex-striker Mark Hateley labelling him as ‘very influential’.
The Wales superstar scored his first goal for the club since arriving on loan on deadline day to equalise against Dundee on Sunday, as they Bears came from behind to earn a late win.
After struggling with injuries during his short spell at the club, Hateley told Daily Record that he feels Ramsey looked a player who ‘thrives on pressure’ and that could be huge for the rest of the season.
“Ramsey looked a completely different player to me in the middle of the park,” he said. “He has more of an influence on the game.
“He had a brilliant piece of skill to set up Alfredo, who should have scored, and the goal came from the corner.
“It was one piece of brilliance from a player who thrives on pressure. This is how he made his career, playing in the middle of the park.
“We saw a very influential Aaron Ramsey who had a big say on the game.”
Game-changer
It was said at the time that the arrival of Ramsey to Ibrox could be a game-changer in the title race this season, and that could finally be coming to fruition.
After a tough start with injuries, Ramsey came into the side from the start and once he moved into a central position he bossed the game and helped turn it on it’s head.

With huge games coming up in April in the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and Europa League Giovanni van Bronckhorst is going to need to be able to rely on his entire squad.
Having a player of Ramsey’s quality in such a high-pressure run of fixtures will be huge with his experience and when they run into tough encounters like this, they know he can deliver the big moments needed.
It’s exactly the reason they signed him and exactly the reason fans got incredibly excited about his deal, now lets hope he can bring in the trophies they want to.
