Rangers player ratings v Dundee: Tavernier disappoints
James Tavernier missed a penalty as Rangers had to wait late to win against bottom-placed Dundee on Sunday afternoon (March 20) in the SPFL.
Gers were losing 1-0 at the break but found a way back into the game through Aaron Ramsey’s goal and Connor Goldson then scored the winner.
However, they still picked up three points which means that Celtic are now three clear at the top of the table.

Here are the player ratings from the game:
Allan McGregor 5
Failed to make a single save in the match. Did not seem to command his area well or show the confidence to march out of his box.
James Tavernier 3
The Gers captain had an awful first half, defensively and in the opposition penalty area. He didn’t do enough to stop the cross that led to Dundee’s goal and hit arguably his worst spot kick in a Rangers kit. Not the outing he would’ve wanted.
Connor Goldson 6
Imperious in the air and on the ground and rarely put in a foot wrong. Always got the better of the attackers and could be proud of his performance. Also scored the winning goal.
Filip Helander 5
Looked sharp until he was brought off in the second half. Could have done more to avoid the goal from being conceded.
Calvin Bassey 6
Has made the left-back position his own and is keeping Borna Barisic out of the team. Another good attacking display coupled with some crucial possession regains in the defensive third.
James Sands 7
Arguably the best player on the pitch. Sands dictated the tempo perfectly and was sharp with his basses. Without the ball, he was always in the right place at the right time.

John Lundstram 6
A decent performance but nothing that actually stood out. He certainly is much better than the player he was at the start of the season.
Aaron Ramsey 6
Scored his first goal for Rangers which would’ve been a special moment for him. However, apart from that, he failed to get involved in the build-up and there were moments where it felt he’s not quite hundred per cent.
Scott Arfield 3
A questionable call to include him in the eleven and he did nothing to justify his credentials. Was subbed off after a disastrous first 45 minutes.
Ryan Kent 4
Tried a great deal but his execution was off the mark. He will have better games and must quickly forget about this one.

Alfredo Morelos 5
While he did not find the back of the net, he tried a great deal to get involved in proceedings. Had a few chances and had it not been for the exploits of Ian Lawlor in the Dundee goal, he surely would’ve scored at least one.
