Jim Duffy reacts to Aaron Ramsey performance in Dundee v Rangers

Jim Duffy has showered praise on Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey after he scored the equaliser in the second half.

The Gers came from behind to pick up all three points against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership at the Dens Park on Sunday (20 March).

Ramsey, who started his first SPFL game, was largely anonymous in the first half, but he was “influential” after the break.

Duffy said, as relayed on the BBC Sports Website: “You can see the difference in Aaron Ramsey when he plays more central. He was anonymous in the first-half, but now he’s been much more influential.”

Huge moment

After going a goal down in the first half, the Gers came back sharply after the break.

Alfredo Morelos came close to scoring in the second half, while Joe Aribo’s strike was saved by Ian Lawlor. One could feel that the goal was coming.

And it was Ramsey who provided the equaliser for the Gers.

Kemar Roofe, who came in as a substitute, heads in a ball into the six-yard box from Ryan Kent and Ramsey had to do was a tap-in from close range.

It was an instinctive finish from the Welshman. From there on, the Gers went on to pile up the pressure. Ramsey was taken off in the 82nd minute, with Glen Kamara replacing him.

Rangers got the crucial second-half moments later to bring relief to the visiting fans.

Conor Goldson, who scored against Dundee in last week’s cup win, scored yet again.

After Roofe’s shot was blocked it fell to him and he volleyed him from 12 yards out.

In other Rangers news, the club may sign a Dutch international to replace Allan McGregor and the keeper’s contract also expires in the summer.
