Stephen Craigan unleashes on Rangers defender Leon Balogun v Red Star
Stephen Craigan emptied both barrels on Rangers defender Leon Balogun for some of his work in the 2-1 defeat against Red Star last night.
The Nigerian enforcer was in the thick of things early on, clashing with his opposite number numerous times.
One tangle of legs led to complaints towards the officials, with Craigan insisting it was “clumsy” defending.

Speaking live on BT Sports coverage of the clash, Craigan was not left impressed by the defender after a small battle.
“Leon Balogun, a little bit clumsy,” he said.
“When they do have the ball, I think they could be squeezing up.”

Clumsy?
It wasn’t the best of openings for Balogun, but he really got stuck into the battle the more the game went on at the Marakana.
The Nigerian didn’t look comfortable for one moment, but it’s how you perform in those moments that matter and he did his job.
Of course, there are going to be mistakes against such physical opponents in the final third, but they also let the pitch knowing they had been in a battle.
Connor Goldson was the exact same, and without them two and Allan McGregor, it could have been much worst.
The spine of this side is incredibly resilient, and that is made even more clear on nights such as these ones on the biggest stage.
We just need to cut out those silly errors at big moments, then we will really be the finished article, Balogun will know that too.
