Ally McCoist wants Braga or Barcelona to face Rangers in next Europa League round
Ally McCoist wants either Braga or Barcelona to face Rangers in the next round of the Europa League.
The Gers have moved into the quarter-finals of the Europa League for the first time in 14 years after beating Red Star Belgrade 4-2 on aggregate.
The Ibrox outfit won 3-0 in the first leg and lost 2-1 in the second leg on Thursday in Serbia under a hostile atmosphere.

The Gers legend said on BT Sport, as relayed by Glasgow Times: “I’d love them to get Barcelona because that would be another signal that the club is getting to where the club should be.
“Or I would take Braga, who finished second in their group to Red Star, for obvious reasons that you’d think we’d have a good opportunity there. It’s also a club we’ve played against recently. I’d take either of the Bs!”
Fascinating
The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Friday (18 March) at 12.30 pm UK time.
The semi-final draw will be made as well.
The final will be held in Sevilla, although the La Liga club won’t be there, as they were knocked out by West Ham last night.

McCoist is certainly getting carried away here, but Rangers will have to be prepared whoever they face next.
At this stage of the competition, no team should be taken lightly, and therefore Braga can pose problems as well. However, if Rangers face Barcelona next, it will be a mouth-watering clash.
The fact that the Gers are in a position to face big European clubs only goes to show how far they have progressed under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Steven Gerrard did an excellent job, but the Dutchman is taking the team to the next level.
In other Rangers news, Stephen Craigan was stunned by this “incredible” Ibrox ace in Belgrade.
