Barry Ferguson raves about Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor
Barry Ferguson has suggested that Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor is not only the best for his club, but also in the entire league.
Recently, McGregor came under strong criticism, and many fans suggested that he should drop his gloves now.
However, the veteran goalkeeper made a strong comeback against Red Star Belgrade in the first leg where he saved a penalty.

“It’s all about proving he is the best,” said Ferguson to Go Radio’s Football Show.
“I still think he is the best goalkeeper not just at Rangers but in our game up here. He proved it last Thursday against Red Star, not just the penalty save, another three or four saves to keep Rangers in the game.
“Listen we have three top class goalkeepers in Scotland, Greegsy, Joe Hart and Craig Gordon, they could play a the highest level for me.
“Top class goalkeeper in Craig Gordon, Marsh it is good to see him back in the squad and Liam Kelly at Motherwell is doing well but Allan McGregor is a top class goalkeeper.”
What next?
McGregor has enjoyed a fantastic career at Rangers, and he has shown his class time and again.
He is still hungry to prove his critics wrong which shows his passion for the game and produced one of his best performances of the season in the 3-0 win over Red Star Belgrade last week.
The 40-year-old is approaching the twilight of his career, and it will be interesting to see if McGregor announces his retirement after the end of the season.
It’s all down to him. It depends on whether he is motivated enough to play another season.

In terms of talent, he is right up there with the best keepers in the country.
Should Rangers look to replace him next summer? Should they sign a new keeper?
McGregor will be in action tomorrow (17 March) when Rangers face Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League second leg away from home.
The Gers are leading by 3-0, and Giovanni van Bronckhorst will expect another solid performance from his goalkeeper.
In other Rangers news, fans in Australia will get Old Firm derby tickets 58% cheaper than those in Glasgow.
