Chris Sutton reacts to Rangers v Celtic cup draw live on Premier Sports

Chris Sutton has shared his instant reaction to Rangers drawing Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Monday evening.

The Old Firm sides will likely now meet three times in a short period starting next month in the league and cup.

Sutton praised Giovanni van Bronckhorst for the work he has done at Ibrox, but backed Celtic to book their place in the final.

Speaking live on Premier Sports last night after the draw was made (14 March), Sutton struggled to separate the sides.

“It’s very difficult because Rangers have done so well in Europe,” he said. “If Celtic get players back, then I think they would sneak it.

“It will be a brilliant watch. Celtic wiped the floor with them, but in fairness to Giovanni van Bronckhorst, he got pelters after that game about tactics, he’s responded so, so well.

“I think he’s done a really excellent job since he’s taken over.”

Big game.

These are the moments you become a professional footballer for.

If you cannot get yourself up for big games such as this one, you seriously have to question why you are still playing.

Rangers taking on Celtic in front of a packed Hampden Park is a huge spectacle, and we already can’t wait for it.

Sweeping our rivals aside on our way to domestic silverware would be incredible, and it is something we haven’t felt in years.

The Scottish Premiership win last season was huge, and it gave us the taste for more, and now it is time to put up or shut up.
