Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey eyes momentum after Dundee minutes

Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey has admitted he is happy at Ibrox despite a difficult start to life in Scotland.

The Welshman has struggled for game time under Giovanni van Bronckhorst having struggled with fitness since making his last-gasp January move.

However, the Juventus man is ready to kick on having played 79 minutes in the Gers’ 3-0 Scottish Cup win against Dundee.

“It was good to get that amount of minutes under my belt again and hopefully I can build on this performance,” said Ramsey as per The Scotsman.

“Am I ready to build a bit of momentum now? Yeah. We have a very talented team and we have done very well of late.

“Hopefully I can stay fit and build on this performance and show what I can do. It was important to be in the hat for the next round, that’s the main thing.

“For me personally, I am happy the way things have gone, now it’s time to build on this performance and have a strong end to the season.

“We have a massive week ahead and we wanted to start well, and we have.”

About time.

Ramsey was tipped to be the next best thing since sliced bread when making his deadline day move in January.

It seemed a bit far even then, but the midfield maestro was compared to the likes of Paul Gascoigne when making the move and it is safe to say he hasn’t lived up to the hype, yet.

He has struggled with injuries throughout his entire career and as expected, that has continued during his time in Scotland.

It is very disappointing for the Bears, but it could have been a lot, lot worse. The Welsh international is on such high wages at the Old Lady and it would have been a farce if Rangers paid that much for him given his impact in the squad.

Thankfully, Juventus are covering a large amount of his wages which makes his lack of form fairly irrelevant from a financial perspective.

Hopefully, he can build on the momentum after playing nearly the whole match without any issues last time out.
