Heart and Hand: Rangers celebrations in press box annoyed Serbian journalists v Red Star

Serbian journalists were left annoyed at Rangers celebrations in the press against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday.

Official club partner, the Heart and Hand shared that Allan McGregor’s penalty saved was celebrated like a goal in the press box.

Of course, that didn’t go down too well with the travelling press, who were forced to sit through the 3-0 drubbing of their champions.

Writing on their personal Twitter account, David Edgar shared what left the Serbian journalist unhappy at Ibrox.

“This was greeted like a goal,” he said.

“I was in press area with Adam, 4ladshadadream and Joshua and we all leapt up hugging and cheering much to the annoyance of Serb media.”

Annoyed.

Lighten up, this was a magical evening and even the travelling press would have been impressed with the Ibrox phenomenon.

Everything that could have gone right for the Bears simply did in this tie, and we’re surprised it all went so swimmingly given everything that actually happened.

First of all, the three-goal lead is magnificent and should be enough to see us through to the quarter-final for the first time in over a decade.

Then came the penalty and the disallowed goals, it just all went right.

Celebrations were once again out of this world and cemented Ibrox as one of the best atmospheres and stadiums across the globe.

Those Serbian journalists may have been annoyed by the celebrations, but they would certainly have understood.

We can’t get too carried away, though, there is still a job to be done in Belgrade next week.
