Rangers starlet Charlie McCann nudged to pick Northern Ireland by Steven Davis
Charlie McCann has made the decision to change international allegiances to Northern Ireland after Rangers teammate Steven Davis made a personal plea.
Davis is the captain of Northern Ireland and having trained and played alongside 19-year-old McCann for the Light Blues, he ensured he chose to change rather than stick with the Republic of Ireland [Daily Record].
Former Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough also made a personal pledge to McCann (according to the Daily Record) who qualifies for his new nation through his parents.

Rangers paid £750,000 for the teenager last summer to sign him from Manchester United and are now helping him finalise all the legal documents required to make him eligible for selection.
For club and country
This might work out extremely well for both Northern Ireland and Rangers in the long run.
If McCann is drafted into the senior team from the off, which admittedly seems unlikely, then he will have even more time to learn from Davis’ wealth of experience in the game.

The more he watches the 37-year-old day in, day out the better he will become both as a player and a person.
They could even play alongside each other for their country and if it works with great success, Giovanni van Bronckhorst might be tempted to try them out in the blue of Rangers too.
Davis is sadly reaching the end of his professional career at the top of the game but he can still be a huge help to the boss if he allows him the freedom to tutor McCann and other midfielders at Ibrox.
No one at the club knows that position better than he does and van Bronckhorst would be wise to let him do his thing and create the “next Steven Davis” in Glasgow.
In other Rangers news, a former mentor for this Rangers ace has compared him to Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
